Job Summary
Set up, program, and operate Electron Beam and CNC welding controls to weld, brazing, or solder metal components and assemblies. Prepare weld surfaces, interpret blueprints, and execute production within established standards and safety procedures. Perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications. Complete exotic metals training or hold required certifications, while actively participating in continuous improvement and single-piece manufacturing flow. Work under direct oversight in a 2nd shift environment with potential overtime, requiring long periods of standing and strong manual dexterity.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- At least 3 years of prior relevant experience
- Successfully complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program and/or have equivalent experience to include outside formal welding education
- Hold a minimum of one Exotic Metals manual weld qualification/certification
- Ability to use mathematics relevant to welding functions
- Basic understanding of router operations and sketches
- Know when to stop and ask for clarification
- Familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
- Must be able to pass a weld test scheduled at interview
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
