Job Summary

The 2nd Shift Electro-Mechanical Technician maintains and troubleshoots a range of fabrication, automation, and control systems (including lasers, press brakes, CNC punch presses, PLCs, robotics) on a fast-paced manufacturing floor. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; implementing new equipment and technologies; collaborating with cross-functional teams; documenting maintenance activities and procedures; providing emergency repairs, with possible overtime and weekend work; and supporting multiple maintenance areas while ensuring safety and reliability. Must read diagrams and engineering specifications, follow OSHA safety standards, and be willing to work overtime with minimal travel. This role contributes to equipment designs and automation upgrades and requires an Associate’s degree or technical certification and 2–3 years of relevant maintenance experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in maintenance, with a focus on fabrication and automated equipment
  • Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, controls, robotics, automation, and complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing fabrication equipment, including lasers, press brakes, and CNC punch presses
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willing to work overtime and varied shift assignments as required
  • Must have industrial electrical knowledge
  • Ability to follow diagrams, prints, sketches, operating manuals and engineering specifications
  • Ability to provide technical input on designs and troubleshoot maintenance-related issues
  • OSHA safety standards compliance (Lock Out Tag Out)
  • Ability to be certified to operate fork trucks, power workers, and aerial lifts
  • Ability to work off ladders and aerial lift
  • Ability to diagnose equipment and systems
  • Ability to accurately read all types of measuring devices
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Must have a proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
