Job Summary
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies at various supplier facilities. Evaluate components against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry standards such as ANSI Y14.5 GD&T, IPC-A-610, and AS9102. Report accept/reject findings directly to the customer and perform First Article Inspections (FAIs). Utilize mechanical inspection tools including micrometers and calipers to verify compliance with specifications. Requires minimum five years of experience in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Independent contractor status required; relocation not available.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies
- ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard
- minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defence manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor
- knowledge of applicable industry standards like IPC-A-610 or equivalent
