Electromechanical Inspector

Job Summary
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies at various supplier facilities against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry standards. Report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer. Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 and utilize mechanical tools such as micrometers and calipers. Interpret engineering drawings and purchase orders using ANSI Y14.5 GD&T standards. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in aerospace or military/defence manufacturing with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Relocation is not available.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies
- ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard
- knowledge of applicable industry standards like IPC-A-610 or equivalent
- minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defence manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- comfortable working as an independent contractor
- knowledge of IPC-A-610 (knowledge / experience – previous cert. acceptable)
- Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, Class 3 (High-Performance/Medical/Aerospace)
Desired Qualifications
- experience performing inspections to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard
- experience performing inspections to engineering requirements specified per IPC-A-610
- experience performing inspections to engineering requirements specified per IPC-J-STD-001
