Job Summary

Conduct trade studies, modeling, and simulation to predict component and system performance, optimizing designs for electromagnetic compatibility in environments including EMI, lightning, HIRF, and EMP. Define and execute tests to validate designs against requirements while interfacing with manufacturing and suppliers to assure system-level compatibility. Review supplier test plans for technical correctness, coordinate corrective actions, and contribute to work statements and design reviews. Apply EMI engineering methods to resolve complex technical problems and process data into deliverables for reports. Support project management by tracking budgets and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess equipment changes and recommend mitigations. Work onsite in the Puget Sound region with up to 25% travel required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2 or more years of related experience
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance is required post-start
  • U.S. export control compliance requirements
  • U.S. Person status (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

Desired Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's in electrical engineering or an advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) in electrical engineering preferred
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance preferred
  • Prior experience in defense or aerospace industries
  • Experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC standards
  • Prior experience with Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)
  • Experience with EMI qualification testing (LRUs and system-level)
  • Familiarity with electrical bonding best practices to support E3 compliance
  • Foundation in RF systems and/or computational E3 analysis tools
  • Experience (Level 3): 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expert (Level 4): 9 more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
