Job Summary
Electro/Mechanical Technician 2 responsible for reading electrical blueprints and schematics, installing and wiring electrical components (switches, motors, junction boxes, lighting, photocells, and control enclosures), bending and securing conduit, soldering connectors, conducting electrical checkouts and functional testing, and applying PLC-based programs for drives. The role includes forklift and crane operation to support manufacturing, onboarding and training of new team members, and working in a climate-controlled facility while contributing to safe, high-quality automation solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred
- Approximately three years of hands-on electrical, electronic, or controls experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics
- Ability to install and wire electrical components (switches, motors, junction boxes, lighting, photocells, control enclosures)
- Bend, install, and secure conduit to meet build and safety requirements
- Solder electrical connectors with accuracy
- Perform electrical checkout and functional testing to ensure quality
- Download and apply PLC-based programs and program drives
- Operate forklifts and cranes as needed
- Willingness to travel 25–35% or more
- Comfort with lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently
- Ability to work in manufacturing and field environments with exposure to moving equipment and chemicals
- Ability to follow electrical codes, specifications, and safety standards
