Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Perform hands-on service activities for Jenbacher gas engines, including replacing filters, conducting inspections, and executing minor repairs. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures by analyzing historical engine data and proposing solutions. Coordinate with third-party suppliers, collaborate with customers and subcontractors, and prepare detailed technical reports. Maintain tools, spare parts, and vehicles while adhering to all Environmental Health and Safety policies. Complete timesheets, expense reports, and job reports promptly. Travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays, across the USA. Requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and prior field technician experience.
Required Qualifications
- Prior field technician experience (automotive, power generation, heavy equipment, ships, aviation or diesel engines)
- Analytical troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work remotely as needed
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
- Ability to meet company vehicle insurability standards
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Jenbacher, natural gas, or reciprocating engines
- Strong electrical skills (e.g., wiring panels and alternators)
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) knowledge
- Background in power generation applications
- Ability to understand, implement, and communicate technical procedures
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent customer focus and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with computers and logic controls software
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
