Job Summary
Design test tools, jigs, and mechatronic packaging while generating manufacturing product data packages and definition files. Perform design analysis and simulation to ensure functional aspects, system stability, manufacturability, testability, and maintainability. Create 3D models and 2D drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing based on ISO GPS standards for machining parts and sheet metal. Manage Product Data Package contents including Bill of Materials and configuration management. Apply Design for Manufacturing, assembly, and cost principles alongside knowledge of machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- CATIA V5 (minimum 5 years)
- rich experience in creating 3D models and 2D drawings and specifications for mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and components
- experience of 2D drawings for machining parts, fabrication, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) based on ISO GPS Standard
- experience with contents of Product Data Package (Bill of Material or Item List, Item, Documents, components, COTS, Find Number, Material & Processes Item, configuration management etc.)
- ability to generate sheet metal and machined product CAD models (Part & Assembly)
- Mechanical Engineering fundamental – Strength of materials, Design of machine elements
- hands-on experience in computational analysis and simulation to address functional aspects, stability of mechanical systems
- Design For Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly, Design to cost, Design for testability, Design for maintainability, Value analysis and value engineering (VAVE)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, like machining, sheet metal, surface treatments, painting processes, additive manufacturing for plastic and metals
