Job Summary
Electrified Powertrain Simulation Engineer at ENC in Riverside, CA. Lead development of electric powertrain multi-physics simulation strategies for real-world driving, identifying requirements for new technologies and features across engine, transmission, and electrified propulsion systems. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to decompose and develop controls system requirements, quantify component power levels, and ensure system quality using tools such as CarSim, AVL Cruise, and in-house MATLAB/Simulink models. Direct the system team for component design and sizing; run models to satisfy thermal and power requirements; support Controls, Calibration, and Validation teams. Requires a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, minimum 5 years in System Engineering/Design/Controls/Calibration, experience with MATLAB/Simulink, CarSim and/or AVL Cruise, and strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor (or above) of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Engineering, Design Engineer, Controls Development, or Calibration
- Exposure to model-based system engineering practices
- Capable of creating electrified powertrain models using MATLAB/Simulink, CarSim and/or AVL Cruise
- Familiar with electric machine theory, control and calibration
- MUST be highly experienced on Matlab/Simulink, AVL Cruise and/or CarSim
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles
- Proficient in interpreting and applying customer specifications to engineering designs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with vehicle manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA principles, and configuration control
- Knowledge of FMVSS, ADA, and other applicable vehicle regulations is a plus
- Skilled in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM systems are a plus
