Job Summary
Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, microprocessor-based systems, controls, and high-voltage components up to 12,000 volts in accordance with Canadian Electrical Code and CSA standards. Program and maintain programmable logic controllers including Allen Bradley SLC 500, GE Fanuc/Cimplicity, and Modicon systems using tools such as testing meters, conduit benders, and soldering irons. Perform skilled electrical work on the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital for Vancouver Coastal Health.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of B.C.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
