Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, security, and control systems, including conduit, wiring, outlets, and panels. Test electrical systems using multimeters and diagnostic equipment to locate malfunctions, then reassemble and test equipment after repairs. Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and relays in security and safety control systems, and locate circuit defects such as blown fuses or breakers. Refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications to guide repairs, while professionally communicating with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions. Estimate costs of repairs based on parts and labor requirements, and maintain equipment service records. Comply with insurance and safety requirements, and maintain a safe, organized work environment on all job sites. Participate in internal and onsite meetings to report progress and resolve issues. This role requires a valid Virginia or Maryland electrician license, minimum 3+ years of field experience, and the ability to work on classified or sensitive government facilities. Applicants must obtain a Government Clearance and adhere to strict security protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Virginia or Maryland electrician license (Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice level)
- Minimum 3+ years of field experience in low-voltage electrical, security system installation, or integration
- Ability to Work on classified or sensitive government facilities
- Able to Follow strict security protocols and procedures
- Maintain detailed documentation of all electrical work performed
- Adhere to federal safety and environmental regulations
- Ability to obtain a Government Clearance
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Knowledge of federal electrical standards and specifications
- Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and hand tools
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders and aerial lifts
- Ability to work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, and above ceiling areas
- Manual dexterity for detailed wiring and component installation
- Visual acuity for reading technical drawings and identifying wire colors
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear, as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Current OSHA safety certification preferred
