Job Summary
Conduct full range of substation construction and maintenance work on electrical distribution and transmission substations, including climbing steel structures, operating heavy equipment, and driving vehicles for long distances. Perform heavy labor tasks outdoors in all weather conditions, handling materials up to 75 pounds and working with mineral oils, paints, compressed gases, and explosives. Obtain a Class A CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement within six months of hiring and pass the Modern Hire Electrician Virtual Job Tryout. Work a 4x10 schedule Monday through Thursday with mandatory overtime, while adhering to NERC requirements and weight restrictions. This union-represented position offers a starting rate of $24.61 per hour with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- The ability to lift up to 75lbs
- The ability to climb steel structures and work off ladders and aerial lifts
- Class A CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement within 6 months of hiring
- Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL learner's permit within 1 month of employment
- Must be able to obtain a CDL with Dominion training within 6 months of employment
- Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement or CDL learner's permit
- Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience
