Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, equipment, and wiring in accordance with hospital codes, the National Electrical Code, and local building regulations. Ensure proper functioning of emergency power systems, including backup generators and UPS units, while conducting regular inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, test circuits using specialized equipment, and respond swiftly to emergencies and outages to minimize disruption to hospital operations. Follow strict infection control protocols, maintain accurate work records, and provide training on safety protocols as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting
- 0-2 years as a journeyman planning work and working unsupervised
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, especially in healthcare environments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proficient in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic devices
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues quickly
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
- State Licensed Electrician
- Alaska: State of Alaska License related to specialty (Electrical, Plumbing...)
- State of Alaska Class 2 Boiler License
Desired Qualifications
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA 608)
- State of Alaska Class 2 Boiler License preferred
