Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings; read blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical drawings; inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or needed repairs; ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes; use hand and power tools to install and service electrical systems; diagnose malfunctioning systems using testing equipment; connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; follow safety procedures and use PPE; maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used; collaborate with contractors and other construction professionals on projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid electrician license or certification (as required by local regulations)
- Proven experience as an electrician (typically 2+ years)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety procedures
- Ability to read technical documents and schematics
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a variety of environments
- Valid driver’s license (if travel to job sites is required)
