Job Summary
Electrician responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults; collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance; contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis; ensure safety standards and site procedures are followed; maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Requires Electrical Supervision Licence, Cert III in Electrotechnology, and experience with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives, and AC/DC motor systems; exposure to instrumentation/automation and SAP knowledge is advantageous; shift potential with 12-hour roster; based at Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical Supervision (ES) Licence – essential for safe oversight of site-based electrical work
- Cert III in Electrotechnology
- Experience with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives, and AC/DC motor systems
- Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems (Cert IV highly regarded)
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical and control systems
