Job Summary

Electrician in a highly regulated facility environment responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electrical systems and equipment supporting commercial, industrial, office, laboratory, and mission-critical facilities. Provides technical competencies to ensure NEC/OSHA compliance and safe, reliable facility operations. Duties include electrical maintenance, installation and repair of distribution systems up to medium voltage, diagnosing motors, MCCs, transformers, switchgear, panels, lighting, and emergency power; mentoring electricians and apprentices; executing planned work orders; interpreting drawings and specifications; preventive/predictive maintenance; using diagnostic equipment; maintaining CMMS documentation; participating in outage planning, system commissioning, and startup activities; coordinating with engineering, operations, and maintenance to resolve issues. Requires knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable electrical standards; ability to read schematics/blueprints; valid driver’s license; U.S. citizenship; DOE security clearance process after award. Work week is 40 hours with flexible schedules (5/8, 4/10, 9/80) depending on project needs; environment is high-regulation with physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined or elevated spaces; PPE appropriate to arc-flash safety. Prefers Journeyman/Master Electrician license and experience with federal/nuclear/government facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7–10 years of commercial, industrial, government, nuclear, or facility maintenance electrical experience
  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred)
  • Experience supporting federal, DOE, nuclear, industrial, or manufacturing facilities (preferred)
  • Knowledge of BAS, fire alarm systems, and standby power systems (preferred)
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training certification (preferred)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification (preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities (preferred)
