Job Summary
Electrician tasked with electrical maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation across EPA-RTP facilities, ensuring safe, code-compliant electrical service. Responsibilities include ongoing safety inspections, minor repairs, updating panel schedules, lamp/ballast replacements, maintaining documentation, reviewing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring NEC/NC amendments compliance, maintaining and repairing subsystems (low voltage panels, generators, transformers, UPS), supporting solar street lighting and PV arrays, coordinating with High Voltage Electrician on medium voltage work, and CMMS documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience working electrical services in commercial facilities
- At least one electrician on staff must hold, as a minimum, an unlimited State of North Carolina Electrical Contractor's License (required)
- Strong familiarity with North Carolina Electrical Code and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience with a broad range of commercial electrical systems including lighting, panels, generators, transformers, and UPS systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
