Job Summary

Troubleshoot electrical, computer, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment/systems commonly used in industrial manufacturing applications. Work with assigned production and maintenance employees to complete troubleshooting or repairs based on maintenance work orders and inventory. Disassemble, repair, and replace parts of machinery such as motors, pumps, conveyors, and belts. Perform major electrical repairs including 24VDC, 120VAC control systems, 3-phase systems up to 480V, PLCs, VFDs, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls. Install new equipment, replace faulty switches, and isolate defects using test instruments. Adhere to safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and PPE requirements. Communicate problems to the Production Supervisor, Maintenance Lead, or Maintenance Manager. Cover both mechanical and electrical equipment without support on off shifts. Work 7AM-3PM Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years electrical maintenance experience with strong electrical/mechanical knowledge of industrial systems and automated technologies
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Trained in lock out/tag out procedures
  • Must pass an electrical aptitude test
  • Must be Arc Flash certified or have the ability to become Arc Flash certified
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally
  • Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others
  • Must be able to accurately observe correct paths of travel and areas for product placement
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange information with teammates
  • Must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Adhere to wear PPE in all areas of the manufacturing facility
  • Check work areas for safety hazards and take corrective action as necessary
  • Must be capable of covering both mechanical and electrical equipment without support on off shifts
  • Has operating knowledge of all production & service equipment
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be available for on-call responsibilities as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 year electrical degree or similar education preferred but not required
  • PLC troubleshooting experience and work with tension controllers are a plus
  • VFD troubleshooting and replacement
