Electrician

Mine Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in the mine under the Mine Maintenance Manager and Foreman. Duties include applying extensive electrical knowledge across shop skills (electric and gas welding, rigging, pipe fitting, sheet metal, machinery repair), operating mobile equipment (fork truck, crane, winch truck) with appropriate signaling, ordering parts, diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment and systems, reading and using electrical schematics and blueprints, performing painting and carpentry as needed, assisting higher classifications or guiding others, performing routine maintenance, locating and remedying electrical trouble across various plant machines, servicing batteries both underground and above ground, keeping the work area clean, and participating in training as required. Must comply with GMP and FDA regulations, and be a qualified journeyman. Requires over 2–3 years of general shop and electrical experience, proficiency with hand tools, electrical meters, testing equipment, motor controls, drives, and electronic components, and the ability to interpret prints and work in a mine environment, including lifting 50+ pounds and working overtime.
