Job Summary
Isolate defects in wiring, switches, and electrical equipment using testing instruments, then plan, layout, install, and assemble materials and fixtures per established standards. Repair, maintain, alter, or erect wiring apparatus while reading schematics and blueprints. Review service requests from the computerized system and update records as needed. Operate vehicles and equipment, reporting major repairs to the supervisor. Periodically serve as a member of the electrical team on-call rotation. Complete all work to meet regulatory code requirements and ensure a clean work area.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma
- minimum of a two-year electrical degree from a vocational college or equivalent experience
- knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems
- Experience working with single and three phase voltages
- knowledge of regulatory codes
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work independently
- successfully pass a background check
- the ability to lift and carry 80 lbs.
- experience and ability to operate a variety of power/hand tools and testing devices
- a valid driver's license
- adherence to the requirements of the Office of Risk Management
- ability to operate power/hand tools
