Job Summary
Troubleshoot hydraulics, mechanics, and equipment while installing, maintaining, and repairing motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers. Diagnose and replace defective parts such as brushes and armatures in motor control centers and PLCs, ensuring all work complies with Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Lead, guide, and train other electricians on applicable procedures while reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and panel schedules. Perform special projects and adapt to unpredictable workloads during peak times, requiring flexibility for extra hours on weekends or holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED Certification
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance
- Current journeyman electrical license
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to drive an automobile
- Knowledge of electrical schematics
- Knowledge of charging systems
- Knowledge of Industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of mobile equipment electrical
- Knowledge of secondary electrical systems
- Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints
- Ability to apply NEC
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers
- Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to lead and train staff
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to crouch or bend at the knees occasionally
- Ability to climb up to 60 vertical steps occasionally
- Ability to stoop or bend at the waist occasionally
- Ability to reach at arms length frequently or overhead occasionally
- Ability to twist and turn at the neck and trunk

- Ability to read, employ, and update electrical panel schedules
- Ability to plan electrical secondary system additions or modifications
- Ability to perform work of lower-level electricians
