Job Summary

Electrician Lead positioned for a 3rd-shift role in an industrial setting in Landover, MD. Responsibilities include compliance with safety and process standards, preventive maintenance, equipment testing and commissioning of new packaging systems, development of SOPs/PM procedures, troubleshooting and repair of electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and maintaining CMMS documentation. Requires strong electrical expertise, PLC troubleshooting (ControlLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 500, Allen Bradley platforms), ability to read blueprints/technical docs, and a continuous improvement mindset. Education includes a high school diploma or GED plus completion of a technical/trade program or millwright apprenticeship; OSHA Fall Protection training and MEWP certification are required. Five years of electrical experience in manufacturing or distribution and at least six months in a Maintenance Lead or equivalent role are expected, along with proficiency in troubleshooting across packaging line equipment like former, case packers, and palletizers. Strong communication and computer skills are necessary to support maintenance operations and collaboration with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a technical/trade school program, millwright apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification
  • OSHA-compliant Fall Protection Training and certification in the operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) required
  • Minimum five years of electrical experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • At least six months in a Maintenance Lead or equivalent role
  • Proven troubleshooting experience across all key areas of the packaging line (e.g., Former, case packer, palletizer)
  • Proficient in repair and maintenance of electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls and production systems with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLCs, including ControlLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 500, and other Allen Bradley platforms
  • Proficient with both 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems (installation, troubleshooting, maintenance)
  • Expertise with AC and DC voltage applications in industrial/manufacturing environments
