Job Summary
Conduct layout, installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of complicated electrical equipment and circuits while troubleshooting control systems. Analyze and correct electrical malfunctions quickly to avoid production delays by reading drawings and wiring schematics. Follow OSHA safety procedures and demonstrate problem-solving skills to navigate busy environments, perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, and operate mobile equipment as needed. Work flexible day, afternoon, or night shifts with little notice, including weekends and holidays, under minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Electrical trade
- six (6) years of documented experience as an Electrician
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
- Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
- Ability to work and stand for extended periods
- Comfortably wear personal protective equipment
- Navigate a busy environment
- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
- May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
