Job Summary
Execute electrical layout, installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on complicated equipment and circuits. Diagnose and correct electrical malfunctions in plant equipment to avoid production delays while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Interpret wiring schematics and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot control systems. Participate in continuous improvement activities and collaborate across departments. Requires a completed apprenticeship certificate or six years of documented experience, with flexible shift hours including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Electrical trade
- six (6) years of documented experience as an Electrician
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
- Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
- Ability to work and stand for extended periods
- Comfortably wear personal protective equipment
- Navigate a busy environment
- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
- May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs
- Drive mobile equipment when needed
