Electrician Journeyperson

Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings to determine wiring layouts. Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits, enclosures, fittings, and data cabling. Pull wire and cable through conduits while installing distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures. Maintain and repair single and multi-wire cables above and underground, including fibre optic and signalling systems. Assemble, test, and maintain electrical wiring and apparatus using hand and power tools. Inspect systems to identify hazards, locate breakdowns, and ensure compliance with codes. Plan layout and installation based on job specifications and local codes. Direct and train workers on installation, maintenance, and repair tasks. Operate tools safely and respond to management direction. Perform minor duties of other trades where certification is not required.
