Job Summary
Wire, install, and maintain standby generator systems and related electrical equipment for residential and light commercial projects. Perform electrical and generator service calls, interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics, and install automatic transfer switches. Read electrical drawings, use tools, conduit benders, and test meters, and handle heavy lifting including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and walking on uneven surfaces. Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions while adhering to NEC code and safety standards. This full-time role supports the team in delivering safe, code-compliant installations for Generator Supercenter, the largest Generac Dealer team in North America.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician or Residential Wireman
- Apprentice, Certified or Licensed
- Hold a valid Journeyman Electrician License or Residential Wireman License
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of residential or commercial electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Ability to read electrical drawings and blueprints
- Comfortable working with tools, conduit benders, and test meters
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
- Proper eyesight/vision to be able to perform mechanical repairs safely
- Be able to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Heavy Lifting is required - Be physically able to perform the job duties including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, pulling, grasping, and walking on uneven surfaces
Desired Qualifications
- AC and DC electrical experience preferred
