Electrician - Journeyman or Apprentice

Job Summary
BGIS-ITS seeks skilled Journeyman Electricians and Electrical Apprentices for new construction, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems per current codes and customer specs. Responsibilities include cutting, threading, bending, assembling, and installing conduits and enclosures; pulling wire and cable; installing distribution/controls equipment, data cabling, fiber optics, and signaling systems; working outdoors in all weather; installing fixtures for industrial applications; applying electrical principles to power distribution; and safe, logical troubleshooting. Requires a Certificate of Qualification in NSAA, minimum 2 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included), knowledge of the Nova Scotia Electrical Safety Code and OHSA, Building Automation Controls experience, Fire Alarm experience, experience in Class 1 Division 1, self-motivation, ability to work independently and in a team, good written/verbal communication, and valid driver’s license. Location: Halifax and greater Nova Scotia area.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate of Qualification as a registered Electrical Apprentice in the NSAA
- Minimum of 2 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included)
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation required
- Building Automation Controls experience
- Fire Alarm experience
- Experience in Class 1 Division 1
- Valid Driver’s License
