Job Summary

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment for critical water and wastewater infrastructure. Working at the journeyman level, you’ll troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize electrical and control systems, support PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and automated systems, interpret drawings and schematics, participate in emergency callouts and standby rotation, and contribute to commissioning, QA/QC, and capital projects. Strong safety mindset, ability to read electrical drawings, and collaboration with engineers, operations teams, and contractors are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Alberta Journeyman Electrician certification
  • Journeyman Instrument Technician certification
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a certified journeyman
  • License: Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permit
  • Driver Abstract may be required
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Safe driving record and background checks potential
