Job Summary
Adhere to all Company Safety and Health Policies while assisting Journeyman Lineman and Apprentice Lineman in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electric-power, generation, underground cables, and related facilities. Work under direct supervision to set guard poles, string lead lines, string conductors, and perform sleeving, sagging, clipping, and dead-ending of conductors, shield wires, and fiber cables. May work on or near energized parts only under direct observation of a Journeyman Lineman or Foreman. Relocate as work requirements demand and attend prescribed training classes to learn new processes and safety regulations. Perform manual tasks requiring physical exertion, including lifting materials up to 60 pounds unassisted and working across uneven terrain in hot or cold conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be alert and capable of working in construction or industrial environments around moving machinery and complex work situations
- Must be arduous and receptive to instructions and procedures involving light, heavy and/or manual tasks requiring physical exertion
- Must be able to lift and handle materials up to 60 pounds unassisted
- Must be able bodied and free of physical impairment
- Must be able to walk and work across uneven terrain
- Must be able to work in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be able to climb on and off large trucks and equipment
- Must be available to relocate as work requirements demand
