Job Summary
Layout, install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complicated electrical equipment and circuits while troubleshooting control systems and analyzing malfunctions to avoid production delays. Read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics, then correct problems quickly using strong problem-solving skills. Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company protocols, navigate a busy environment, and participate in continuous improvement activities. Work flexible shift hours including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays with little notice, lifting up to 50 lbs and operating mobile equipment as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice

- May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. depending on department
- Occasional sitting during certain tasks
- Drive mobile equipment when needed
