Job Summary

Layout, install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complicated electrical equipment and circuits while troubleshooting control systems. Analyze electrical malfunctions to diagnose and correct problems quickly, avoiding production delays. Follow established safety procedures per OSHA standards and interpret drawings and wiring schematics. Read and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to navigate busy environments, bend, twist, and lift materials up to 50 lbs. Work flexible shift hours including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays with little notice. Complete comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and background checks.

Required Qualifications

  • At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice

  • Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals are a must
  • Ability to work and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortably wear personal protective equipment

  • May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Drive mobile equipment when needed
