Job Summary
Inspect, maintain, and repair complex electrical distribution systems across company facilities, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor installations using specialized test equipment and tools. Document maintenance measures and logs while researching and resolving general electrical issues, including interpreting blueprints and schematics to upgrade existing prints. Work indoors, outdoors, and in restricted spaces, maintaining static postures for extended periods, and remain onsite during severe weather emergencies or disasters. Requires an electrical license, 2 years of commercial or light industrial experience, and ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years in Commercial or Light Industrial Electrical experience
- Electrical license or local licensure to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Knowledge of the State, Parish, and the Southern Building Codes
- Ability to and experience with proper use all power, hand tools and specialized equipment associated with the electrical trade
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to and experience with working with minimal supervision
- Ability to and experience with reading, writing and understanding mechanical and electrical symbolisms to enable one to interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and mechanical. Drawing skills in order to document electrical charges on existing prints for upgrading by CADD
- Stress management skills
- Ability to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces amounting to static postures/positions which must be held for extended periods of time
- Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and take emergency calls
- Must be able to crawl, climb, bend and lilt 50 pounds without any restrictions
