Job Summary
The Electrician III supports Franciscan Health Indianapolis by performing electrical construction, maintenance, and repairs across hospital facilities. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, installing and maintaining electrical circuits and equipment, managing documentation in the computerized maintenance management system, supporting PM development and lifecycle planning, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies, and responding to electrical emergencies per emergency response plans. The role requires an associate degree in electrical-related field (or HS diploma with Master Electrician certification), 5 years of electrical experience, hospital maintenance experience, and licensure (Master Electrician within 1 year; Journeyman license). Office hours are Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm with on-call hours as needed; travel is never or rarely required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in construction, electrical, or electronics field of study required OR High School Diploma with Master Electrician Certification/electrical vocational training required
- 5 years of experience in electrical field required
- 3 years of hospital maintenance, construction, or mechanical system experience preferred
- Master Electrician License required within 1 year of hire
- Journeyman license or electrical certificate required
- Travel is Never or Rarely
