Job Summary
Electrician Foreman supervises and directs the Electrical department personnel and work schedules, trains new personnel on district policies, maintains logs and records, and directs and coordinates all phases of building electrical repairs and modifications. Responsibilities include approving parts and material orders, evaluating hiring and discipline decisions, coordinating with outside contractors, conducting inspections, and ensuring safety and compliance with codes and specifications for new construction and modifications. Requires a City of Houston Journeyman Electrical license (Master license preferred), extensive knowledge of electrical codes, and the ability to prepare and edit specifications and prints; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work different schedules, and be available for after-hours duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 8 years experience in the electrical trade
- Current City of Houston Journeyman Electrical license required
- Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language
- Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements
- Work at various heights
