Job Summary
EV Charging Field Service Electrician responsible for onsite repair and maintenance of EV charging stations within a geographic region, including site safety, electrical system maintenance/repair, site field reports, and other duties as required to properly maintain and operate the site within contractual requirements. Must work independently in the field under various conditions. Typical schedule involves ~10-hour workdays with pay range $25.00-$32.00 hourly (DOE). In-field duties include OEM testing and troubleshooting of Level 2 EV chargers to DC Fast Chargers, insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations; troubleshoot system performance and locate/ isolate ground faults; coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to ensure timely completion of work orders; review site manuals and drawings for proper service; document issues in the work order system and ensure timely resolution. Required Qualifications
- Electrical – Certified Electrician (Journeyman level) from a relevant state (REQUIRED).
- 2+ years’ equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Technical knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV)chargers, solar power installations, or other applicable power electronics is preferred, but not required.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and complete site work requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers. Interpreter services are not available for this position.
