Job Summary
Electrician responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and industrial systems for CVG Airport's environmental operations. Focus areas include pumps, motors, valves, motor controls, power distribution equipment, and related systems for stormwater and wastewater treatment, plus instrumentation and limited PLCs. Tasks include preventative maintenance, diagnostics, testing, repairs, and coordinating contractor activities, with 24/7 shift support and on-call responsiveness. Requires reading blueprints, understanding high voltage controls, motor controls, soft starters, PLCs, and field wiring; working within CMMS records; and ensuring compliance with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry rules. License and credentials required include Kentucky Journeyman Electrician, CDL Class A/B (or ability to obtain), SIDA clearance, OSHA 30 hours, and airfield driving ability. Candidate should possess strong communication and teamwork skills and be able to operate emergency response duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: HSD/GED
- Minimum Years of Direct Experience: 5, Journeyman experience in relevant field
- Kentucky Journeyman Electrician License
- Commercial Driver’s License – Class A or B (or the ability to acquire a Class A within 6 months of the hire date)
- Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
- OSHA 30 hour Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months
- Airfield Driving - This position requires driving on the airfield area
- Demonstrated knowledge of trouble shooting electrical/mechanical systems
- Ability to read blueprints
- Proficiency with PLCs
- Protection and coordination of electrical systems in industrial environment
- Safety procedures including lockout/tagout and confined space entry
