Job Summary
Install, program, and commission electrical equipment, inverters, switchgear, meters, and monitoring devices for commercial solar systems. Read blueprints and manuals to perform system testing, device verification, and assist with startup and commissioning. Conduct site visits to ensure quality control of racking and communication systems, while diagnosing and repairing wired and wireless issues. Complete documentation including work orders and material requests, and coordinate with subcontractors on active job sites. Support emergency service calls, preventive maintenance, and customer service needs. This role involves frequent local travel across Indiana and Illinois, with occasional overtime for critical shutdowns. Candidates must possess hands-on electrical experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work in varied conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or trade school program
- 3+ years of electrical installation and service experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers, inverters, and metering equipment
- Proficiency in installing, wiring, terminating, and testing electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience troubleshooting SCADA, monitoring platforms, and communication networks
- Ability to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company
- Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-based sponsorship currently or in the future
- Pre-hire requirements include a drug test

- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
