Job Summary
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. Test electrical systems and continuity using devices like ohmmeters or oscilloscopes to ensure safety. Repair and install devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, and motors while updating as-built drawings. Use power tools and measuring equipment to complete work in accordance with blueprints and national codes. Attend toolbox safety meetings and obtain OSHA 10 certification. Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman - $39.40 to $45.31 per hour with required experience
- 12,000-hour experience in the electrical trade
- Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification
- Must be able to work outdoors
- Must be able to be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- Must be able to be exposed to moving mechanical and electrical parts
- Must be able to be exposed to high, precarious places
- Must be able to be exposed to dust, fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Must be able to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be able to be exposed to cold and heat
- Must be able to be exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration
- Must be able to be exposed to noise level in the work environment that is usually moderate to loud
