Job Summary
Install, repair, and maintain all electrical components on camps, generators, and distribution buildings for relocatable modular structures. Mount motors, transformers, and light fixtures according to drawings, while performing weekly test runs of emergency diesel generators. Inspect lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, security, HVAC, and medical systems, replacing faulty elements and implementing preventive maintenance programs for power and HVAC equipment. Conduct thermography reports and facilitate inspections with TSSA and ESA. Analyze electrical drawings to troubleshoot and install components for normal and emergency power systems up to 600V. This Grande Prairie shop-based role includes potential field work and requires a registered Journeyman or Apprentice with five years of construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a registered Journeyman or Apprentice
- Current 3-year driver abstract required
- 5 years electrical work experience in construction settings
- Working and practical knowledge of the applications of electrical techniques and methods
- Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to trade
- Ability to draw appropriate sketches to communicate details to team members, and others
- Perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45 lbs
- Requires manual dexterity of both hands and feet to perform activities such as lifting overhead, twisting and bending while lifting, climbing ladders and stairs while wearing protective equipment, and including repetitive arm motion below, at, and above shoulder level
