Job Summary
Respond to guest repair requests, communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment. Visually inspect tools and machines, carry equipment, and operate all shut-off valves for utilities and buildings. Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and complete cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components, plumbing fixtures, internet devices, and other guestroom items. Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering inventory duties, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work. Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers, input air handler schedules, and make temperature changes. Follow all safety policies, report hazards, and ensure professional appearance while welcoming and assisting guests.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
- Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- Ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration
- Ability to acquire knowledge in electrical
- Ability to acquire knowledge in mechanical
- Ability to acquire knowledge in plumbing
- Ability to acquire knowledge in pneumatic/electronic systems and controls
- Ability to acquire knowledge in carpentry and finish skills
- Ability to acquire knowledge in kitchen equipment
- Ability to acquire knowledge in vehicles
- Ability to acquire knowledge in energy conservation
- Ability to acquire knowledge in general building
- Ability to perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair
- Ability to perform light bulb and A/C filter replacement
- Ability to perform complete and thorough cleanup of painting or repair area
- Ability to test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment
- Ability to perform basic repair on plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains)
- Ability to perform basic repair on electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices
- Ability to replace electrical switches and outlets
- Ability to perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers
- Ability to display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers
- Ability to use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
- Ability to follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
- Ability to report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
- Ability to complete safety training and certifications
- Ability to properly store flammable materials
- Ability to ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
