Job Summary
The Electrician will perform tasks related to electrical repair and/or installation of electrical equipment for residential customers and is responsible for maintaining customer health, safety, and satisfaction. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures; diagnosing malfunctions with test equipment and hand tools; wiring connections to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; inspecting systems to identify hazards and ensure code compliance; planning layout and installation based on job specifications and local codes; installing ground leads and connecting power cables; pulling wires through conduits; fabricating parts and mounting electrical boxes; providing preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services; coordinating with other departments to transfer service work data; and maintaining cleanliness and professionalism on site. Skills and qualifications emphasize comprehension of electrical codes and standards, strong math and reading skills, customer service, tool proficiency, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as an electrician in a residential service and maintenance operation
- GED or High School Diploma
- Associate degree in related field preferred
- Knowledge of electrical field concepts, NFPA, Life Safety Codes, and local codes
- Solid communication and customer service skills
- Must have appropriate trade tools
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
