Job Summary
Inspect, test, install, maintain, and repair electrical circuits, appliances, systems, and fixtures in compliance with state, local, and Life Safety Code requirements. Act as a liaison with external providers to obtain permits and ensure work meets regulatory and hospital standards. Respond promptly to trouble calls to troubleshoot malfunctions such as blown fuses, short circuits, and loose connections using appropriate test equipment. Evaluate electrical equipment for efficiency, recommend cost-saving measures and facility upgrades, and study blueprints to determine methods and materials for system modifications. Maintain records on equipment status and maintenance schedules. Requires 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, a Journeyman license, and eligibility for overtime to cover extended hours, disaster relief, and vacation/illness coverage.
Required Qualifications
- A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or graduation from a trade or vocational school
- A demonstrated in-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems and electrical devices such as controls, switches, starters, transformers, motors and panel boards
- 3 years of relevant experience to demonstrate a knowledge/experience that is normally acquired through a three to four- year electrical apprenticeship program
- 5 years of relevant experience journeyman experience
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI
- LIC-ELECTRICAL_JOURNEYMAN_LICENSE-STATE_MI
- Must be eligible for overtime status
- Is able to work reasonable extended hours to accomplish priority repairs and to fill in for disaster, vacation or illness coverage
