Job Summary
Install electrical systems by interpreting blueprints, preparing layouts with voltage testers, and terminating panels using LOTO procedures. Run cable trays, pull wire, bend conduit, and size branch circuit overcurrent protection devices while calculating loads for single and three-phase circuits. Perform work overhead, beneath structures, and in confined spaces, adhering to strict safety standards and precise accuracy limits. This role requires significant travel, regular on-site attendance, and the ability to lift up to fifty pounds in various industrial environments across the Southeast.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledgeable with blueprints, sketches and building plans pertaining to type of material
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
- Prepares layout, using voltage tester, wire strippers, level, pipe benders etc...
- Terminates panels utilizing LOTO
- Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers
- Run cable tray, pulls wire and bend various types of conduit
- Understands motor controls and metering
- Size branch circuit overcurrent protection devices
- Calculate loads for single phase and three-phase branch circuits
- Rates information using standards, which can be measured or checked
- Reviews and compares differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
- Follow directions, plans, and blueprints
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights
- Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations
- Regular attendance
- Significant travel
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication
- Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC
- Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times
- Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds
- Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces
- Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions
