Job Summary
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, components, and vessels across all company facilities. Install, maintain, and enhance wiring, fuses, and lighting while performing preventative maintenance and connecting/disconnecting power as needed. Replace damaged components like cords and outlets, maintaining proper documentation of repairs and conditions. Ensure all work follows industry safety standards, electrical codes, and blueprints. Stock shop supplies, maintain inventory, and keep work areas clean and orderly. Communicate with supervisors, staff, vendors, and contractors regarding equipment and operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience working as electrician
- Basic understanding of electrical principles, including circuits, voltage, and current
- Familiarity with common electrical tools and equipment
- Knowledge of general safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams with minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices
- Ability to perform installation, maintenance, and basic repairs independently
- Familiarity with testing equipment (e.g., multimeter) to diagnose and resolve routine issues
- Requires climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting
- Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
- Work is performed outside in the elements, on and around water
