Job Summary

Electrician Apprentice will learn the electrical trade under Lead Electricians, applying NEC code, electrical theory, and Ohm’s Law in field settings. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in a de-energized state; diagnosing malfunctions with test equipment; connecting wires to circuit breakers and transformers; inspecting systems for hazards and compliance with codes; testing continuity and safety; coordinating with other departments to ensure proper transfer of service data; maintaining company vehicle; ensuring health, safety, and customer satisfaction in residential work.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Indenture in an Electrical Apprenticeship greatly preferred
  • Basic math and reading comprehension required
  • Knowledge of electrical field concepts, practices, best practices, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems required
  • Ability to work well with others and strong communication skills a must
  • Must have appropriate trade tools
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
