Job Summary
Electrician responsible for industrial electrical and electronic repair on production equipment, performing preventive maintenance at proper intervals, reading complex electrical schematics and blueprints, and supporting upgrades/ relocations. The role requires diagnosing breakdowns to maximize production time, communicating statuses in English, and ensuring safe operation per National Electrical Code guidelines. Shift is 7pm–3:30am with Friday/Saturday off; location is Schaumburg/I Ln Chicago Tribune operations. Must be able to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot PLC logic, AC/DC theory, and use meters/scopes; participate in project work and ongoing knowledge development.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of electrical experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred but an apprentice will be considered
- Ability to read/write and understand electrical schematics
- Understand AC/DC theory and electromechanical devices (Pneumatic/Sensor Controls)
- Basic understanding of PC-controlled interfaces (Fiber optic/Communication Networks)
- Troubleshoot PLC Logic and Analog Relay logic (Solid-state electronics) and AC/DC Digital Control
- Ability to properly use tools to perform duties (Meters, scopes, hand tools, etc.)
