Job Summary
Install, construct, inspect, test, operate, and maintain all equipment and facilities in electric substations and related delivery equipment under direct and general supervision. Responsibilities include snow removal, material delivery, and installation and maintenance of fencing. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a two-year degree in a relevant technology, and be able to perform strenuous work. Valid driver's license and a clean driving history required, along with passing specific examinations.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a two-year degree or certificate in Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or Electric Construction/Maintenance from an accredited college or university.
- Must obtain a NYS CDL Class A (restricted) within six months of being awarded position.
- Must pass physical abilities examination.
- Must pass validated aptitude test.
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Electrical/Mechanical experience is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Incumbents must adhere to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing DOT covered positions.
