Job Summary
Perform electrical build-out, wiring, commissioning, and maintenance of aeroderivative gas turbine packages (CFM56) in production and field environments. Execute cabling, terminations, conduit installation, control panel wiring, instrumentation, and system integration; commission units at customer sites including pre-energization checks, loop verification, functional testing, generator synchronization, load bank testing, and paralleling to handover. Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on aeroderivative packages (starter/ignition, fuel control wiring, generator excitation/AVR, load management, protective relays). Conduct preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and FTAI Power procedures; diagnose complex faults on turbine control systems (GE Mark V/VI/VIe, Woodward 505/5009, ABB, Bently Nevada); read wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, P&IDs; perform high/low-voltage cabling, testing, and commissioning with NEC/IEC standards; contribute to documentation, safety protocols, and site readiness; mentor junior electricians as the program scales.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license (state-recognized) required
- Master Electrician license a significant advantage
- Minimum 7 years of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience
- at least 4 years of direct, hands-on work on aeroderivative gas turbine packages in power generation, industrial, or oil & gas environments
- Experience on GE LM2500/LM6000/LM9000; Rolls-Royce RB211/Avon; Pratt & Whitney FT4/FT8; Solar Turbines Titan/Centaur/Mars; CFM56 familiarity valued
- Ground-up package electrical build and commissioning experience
- Proficiency with turbine control and protection systems: GE Mark V/VI/VIe, Woodward 505/5009, Bently Nevada API 670
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, API RP 505, IEC/IEEE standards; hazardous area classifications (Class I Division 1/2, ATEX/IECEx)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics; perform full commissioning sequences including loop checks and load testing
- Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, or PLC systems interfacing with turbine control
- Site credentials (BOSIET/HUET, TWIC) or ability to obtain
- Strong troubleshooting, independent judgment, and clear communication
