Job Summary
Electrician 1st Shift in a foundry maintenance department. Responsibilities include reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, using testing instruments, applying knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motor control, and power distribution to install, test, inspect, adjust, repair, and wire plant equipment to required voltages and tolerances; diagnose and remedy troubles quickly to avoid shutdowns; fabricate materials for electrical equipment; operate shop trucks; and adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred; trade certifications desirable; 2+ years in an electrical role and 3-5 years in manufacturing (foundry) are highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in electrical engineering or alike field is preferred
- Trade certifications from organizations such as BOCES or MACNY highly desirable
- Requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an alike role
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, especially a foundry, is highly desirable
