Job Summary
Install, alter, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment while following accepted trade practices and supervisor instructions. Troubleshoot and test electrical apparatuses, assess and resolve problems, and operate hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks. Write field and time reports, fill out logs, and follow up on complaints as directed. Provide maintenance for state and county pump houses and moveable bridges, including operation of CDL equipment. Work independently or with Bridge Mechanics on projects requiring sketches, blueprints, or oral/written assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman electrical work capability
- Ability to read oral or written assignments
- Ability to interpret penciled sketches or blueprints
- Ability to work independently following accepted trade practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and test electrical systems and apparatuses
- Ability to write field and time reports
- Ability to follow up on complaints as directed by supervision
- Ability to provide electrical maintenance of state and county pump houses and moveable bridges
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to fill out reports and logs
- Ability to assess and resolve electrical problems
- Ability to operate CDL equipment
